The tour then continues towards Tawang, one of the most beautiful destinations in Arunachal Pradesh. Located at a high altitude and surrounded by majestic mountains, Tawang is famous for its historic monasteries and spectacular landscapes. The famous Tawang Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in India, is a major highlight of the visit.

Day 1
Day 1 – Guwahati to Dirang: Enter the Eastern Himalayas
The journey begins from Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India. After an early breakfast, start the long but scenic drive towards the hills of Arunachal Pradesh. The route follows the Brahmaputra valley before gradually climbing into the Himalayan foothills.
On the way, reach Bhalukpong, the entry point of Arunachal Pradesh where Inner Line Permit formalities are completed. From here the landscape changes dramatically, with dense forests, mountain rivers, and winding hill roads.
Continue the drive through beautiful valleys and small tribal villages before reaching Dirang, a peaceful mountain town located along the banks of the Dirang River. Surrounded by apple orchards, monasteries, and snow-capped peaks, Dirang offers a calm and refreshing Himalayan environment.
After checking into the hotel, travelers can take a short walk around the town and enjoy the cool mountain weather. The quiet surroundings and fresh air make Dirang a perfect place to relax after a long journey.

Day 3
Day 3 – Tawang Sightseeing
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the important attractions of Tawang. Begin with a visit to the famous Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and one of the most important Buddhist centers in the Himalayas. The monastery offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valley.
Next visit the Tawang War Memorial, built in honor of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Sino‑Indian War.
Later travelers may visit the scenic Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangetsar Lake, surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes and partially submerged tree trunks that create a unique view.
The rest of the evening can be spent exploring local markets and experiencing the culture of the Monpa community.

Day 5
Day 5 – Bomdila to Guwahati: Return to the Plains
After breakfast, check out and begin the journey back to Guwahati. The drive descends from the mountains into the plains of Assam, passing through forested hills, river valleys, and small towns.
Travelers once again cross Bhalukpong, marking the exit from Arunachal Pradesh. The landscape gradually changes as the towering mountains give way to the wide plains of the Brahmaputra valley.
Short stops can be taken along the route for refreshments and photography. By evening, arrive back in Guwahati.

Day 2 – Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass
After breakfast, begin one of the most spectacular drives of the tour towards Tawang. The route passes through dramatic Himalayan landscapes and high mountain passes.
The highlight of the journey is crossing Sela Pass, located at an altitude of around 13,700 feet. The pass is surrounded by snow-covered mountains and offers breathtaking views of the stunning Sela Lake, which remains frozen during winter months.
The drive continues through rugged mountain terrain, waterfalls, and remote villages before reaching the beautiful town of Tawang.
On arrival, check into the hotel and relax while enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery around the town. The cool weather and peaceful environment create a truly Himalayan experience.

Day 4 – Tawang to Bomdila: Scenic Mountain Journey
After breakfast, check out and begin the return journey towards Bomdila. The drive once again passes through the breathtaking Sela Pass, allowing travelers another chance to admire the spectacular Himalayan scenery.
The road descends gradually through forests, waterfalls, and mountain valleys. Along the way travelers enjoy panoramic views of snow-covered peaks and winding rivers flowing through the landscape.
By afternoon arrive in Bomdila, a charming hill town known for its monasteries and scenic viewpoints. Visit the peaceful Bomdila Monastery, which reflects the Buddhist culture of the region and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
The evening can be spent walking through the small local markets and enjoying the calm atmosphere of this Himalayan town.
