Tour Summery

This 5-day spiritual journey through Madhya Pradesh takes travelers to some of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations along the banks of the holy Narmada River. The tour begins from Indore and proceeds towards Ujjain, one of the seven sacred cities of India and home to the famous Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple.

Ujjain is an ancient city with great religious importance and is known for the grand Kumbh Mela held every twelve years. Devotees visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple for darshan and explore other sacred temples located along the banks of the Shipra River.

The journey then continues to Maheshwar, a beautiful historic town located on the banks of the Narmada River. Maheshwar is famous for its peaceful ghats, temples and the magnificent Maheshwar Fort built by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar. The town is also well known for its traditional Maheshwari sarees.

The tour further proceeds to Omkareshwar, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. The temple is located on an island shaped like the sacred ‘Om’ symbol in the Narmada River and is an important pilgrimage destination for devotees.

This journey offers a perfect combination of spirituality, history and scenic beauty along the sacred Narmada River before returning to Indore.

Day 1

Day 1 – Arrival in Indore and Transfer to Ujjain

The journey begins with arrival in Indore, the largest city of Madhya Pradesh and the gateway to many sacred destinations along the Narmada River. After meeting the tour group, proceed towards Ujjain, one of the seven sacred cities of India.

Located on the banks of the Shipra River, Ujjain is famous for the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. After checking into the hotel, visit the temple for darshan and experience the deeply spiritual atmosphere.

Later explore other important temples in the city such as Kal Bhairav Temple and Harsiddhi Temple, both of which hold great significance for devotees.

In the evening visit the ghats along the Shipra River where pilgrims gather for prayers and rituals.

Day 3

Day 3 – Ujjain to Maheshwar: The Narmada Ghats

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Maheshwar, a beautiful town located on the banks of the sacred Narmada River.

Maheshwar is known for its historic fort and serene ghats built by the legendary queen Ahilyabai Holkar. After arriving, check into the hotel and begin sightseeing.

Visit the majestic Ahilya Fort, which overlooks the Narmada River and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Later walk along the scenic Maheshwar Ghats, where temples and stone steps create a peaceful spiritual environment.

The evening sunset over the Narmada River is one of the most memorable experiences here. Travelers can also explore local markets famous for traditional Maheshwari sarees.

Day 5

Day 5 – Omkareshwar to Indore Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the return journey to Indore.

On arrival in Indore, travelers may explore local markets or enjoy the famous street food of the city depending on available time. Popular food areas such as Sarafa Bazaar are known for a wide variety of delicious snacks.

Later transfer to the airport or railway station for the onward journey.

The tour concludes with wonderful memories of sacred temples, peaceful river ghats, and the spiritual heritage of Ujjain, Maheshwar, and Omkareshwar along the holy Narmada River.

Day 2

Day 2 – Ujjain Sightseeing

After breakfast, continue exploring the sacred city of Ujjain. Begin the day at Ram Ghat, one of the most important ghats along the Shipra River where devotees take a holy dip.

The ghat is also the main site of the grand Kumbh Mela, held once every twelve years in Ujjain.

Next visit Mangalnath Temple, believed to be the birthplace of the planet Mars according to Hindu mythology. The temple offers a peaceful spiritual atmosphere.

Later visit Sandipani Ashram, where according to legend Krishna and his friend Sudama received their education from Guru Sandipani.

Spend the evening exploring local markets and experiencing the devotional atmosphere of the city.

Day 4

Day 4 – Maheshwar to Omkareshwar

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Omkareshwar, another sacred Jyotirlinga destination located on an island in the Narmada River.


The island is shaped like the sacred symbol “Om,” which gives the town its name. Visit the famous Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.


Pilgrims often perform the Omkareshwar Parikrama, a spiritual walk around the island which offers scenic views of the river and temples.


Travelers may also visit Mamleshwar Temple, another ancient temple located across the river.


Spend the evening enjoying the calm spiritual atmosphere near the ghats of the Narmada River.

  • 30% Cancellation for any land package bookings 15 Days before departure.

  • 100% Cancellation for any land package bookings 7 Days before departure.

Advanced Preparation

  • As everyone is becoming a frequent traveller now, we suggest that you make your own travel accessories kit to ensure a stress free holiday.

  • Always make sure to carry less and light luggage, use a four wheel small or medium suitcase and please make sure that you are carrying only one suitcase per person. This will ensure that you will travel smartly and without any inconveniences.
