Assam – Meghalaya Explorer is a perfect blend of nature, waterfalls, wildlife and spirituality. This 8-day journey takes you through the most scenic and iconic destinations of North East India.

The tour begins from Guwahati and moves to Shillong, the charming hill station known as the “Scotland of the East.” Enjoy peaceful moments at Umiam Lake, explore local markets, and experience the cool mountain weather.

From there, visit Cherrapunji, famous for its dramatic waterfalls and caves. Witness the breathtaking Nohkalikai Falls and explore natural limestone caves. A day trip to Dawki lets you enjoy boating on the crystal-clear Umngot River, where boats appear to float in the air! Mawlynnong village adds a unique experience with its cleanliness and living root bridges.

The journey continues to Kaziranga National Park in Assam, home to the world-famous one-horned rhinoceros. Jeep and elephant safaris offer thrilling wildlife encounters amidst lush greenery.

Finally, seek blessings at the sacred Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati and enjoy the serene Brahmaputra River views before concluding the tour.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Shillong (100 km / 3 hrs)

Arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station. Meet and greet, then transfer to Shillong.

On the way, stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake for photos and relaxation.

After reaching Shillong, check-in to the hotel. Later visit Elephant Falls and Ward’s Lake. Evening free for shopping at Police Bazaar.

Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji (60 km / 2 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth.

Visit Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave and Arwah Cave. Enjoy stunning valley views and cool climate.

Evening return to hotel. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji / Shillong (as per plan).

Day 3: Dawki – Mawlynnong Excursion

After breakfast, drive to Dawki near Indo-Bangladesh border.

Enjoy boating on the crystal-clear Umngot River (optional).

Later visit Mawlynnong village, known as Asia’s cleanest village. See the Living Root Bridge and Sky View Point.

Return to Shillong by evening. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Shillong – Kaziranga (300 km / 6–7 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park.

Enjoy scenic tea gardens and countryside views on the way.

Check-in at the resort. Evening free for leisure or cultural activities (if available).

Day 5: Kaziranga Safari

Early morning Elephant Safari (optional).

After breakfast, relax at the resort.

Advanced Preparation

  • As everyone is becoming a frequent traveller now, we suggest that you make your own travel accessories kit to ensure a stress free holiday.

  • Always make sure to carry less and light luggage, use a four wheel small or medium suitcase and please make sure that you are carrying only one suitcase per person. This will ensure that you will travel smartly and without any inconveniences.

  • It is also recommended that you have one cross shoulder bag or haversack for your handy needs which will ensure that you are comfortable at the time of sightseeing and also easy for photography during your tour.

  • A smart cap/hat and sunglasses are definitely something that you should have in your kit.

  • Though Bharatatva provides all three meals, that is breakfast, dinner and Bharatatva treats as per the itinerary, you can carry dry snacks of your choice in small sealed packets for munching during air travel or road journeys.

  • If you are travelling during the monsoon or to destinations where it is rainy, please carry a small umbrella or poncho.

  • For international tours, please carry a universal adapter for charging your cameras and mobile phones.

  • Ensure that your clothing and footwear is suitable for the destination you are travelling to.

Payments & Cancellation Terms

  • Guests will be needed to pay an advance booking amount of Rs.10,000/- per person to raise invoice and Air/ Train Ticket Blocking/Booking.

  • Anu Discount/ offer Coupon Codes are to be informed before Raising the invoice.

  • 50% Advance at the Time of booking after receiving Invoice and rest 15 Days prior to tour start date.

  • Any Air/ Train Bookings to be made should be paid 100% in advance

  • In case of offers applied with more than 40% Discount then 100% in Advance.

  • 0% Cancellation for any land package bookings 45 Days before departure.

  • 30% Cancellation for any land package bookings 15 Days before departure.

  • 100% Cancellation for any land package bookings 7 Days before departure.

  • Cancellation of Air/ Train Tickets subject to cancellation policy of respective train/ flight operator.

  • Guest can pay by Cash /Online Transfer/ Cheque/ Demand Draft / Debit card / credit card.

  • For Debit / Credit Card payments 1.8% additional convenience charge will be applicable
