Nashik – Surat – Bhavnagar – Sasan Gir – Somnath – Porbandar – Dwarka – Rajkot – Salangpur – Bhavnagar – Surat – Nashik

Tour Summery
Embark on a unique coastal and spiritual journey through Gujarat, beginning from Nashik and weaving across the Arabian Sea coastline, forests, temples, and historic towns. This 8-day road trip offers an unforgettable mix of wildlife, devotion, culture, and adventure.
The journey kicks off with a scenic drive to Bhavnagar via Surat and a ferry crossing across the Gulf of Khambhat, giving travelers a rare maritime experience. From there, the route leads to the wild heart of Gujarat – Sasan Gir National Park, where the thrill of spotting the majestic Asiatic Lions leaves every visitor spellbound.
The next stop is Somnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, where the evening Aarti and Sound & Light Show create a divine atmosphere by the Arabian Sea. The coastal road then brings you to Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, before arriving at Dwarka, the sacred city of Lord Krishna. A visit to Bet Dwarka by boat and an adventurous snorkeling experience add a lively twist to the spiritual circuit, along with darshan at Nageshwar Jyotirlinga and Rukmini Temple.
From Dwarka, the trail leads to Rajkot, where Gandhi’s childhood home and cultural museums showcase Gujarat’s heritage. The pilgrimage continues to Salangpur Hanuman Mandir, revered as Kashtabhanjan Hanuman, before returning to Bhavnagar for a relaxed evening. The tour concludes with another ferry crossing and a drive back to Nashik, carrying with you blessings, heritage experiences, and cherished memories.

Day wise Itinerary
Day 1: Nashik – Surat – Bhavnagar (via Jetty)
The adventure begins as the group departs from Nashik in the early morning. The drive takes you across the plains of Maharashtra into Gujarat, where the landscape changes into fields of cotton and sugarcane. A lunch halt is arranged en route before reaching Surat, the diamond city of India. Here begins a unique part of the journey – a ferry ride across the Gulf of Khambhat. Boarding the jetty, you sail with the cool sea breeze brushing your face and waves sparkling in the afternoon sun. For children, this sea-crossing feels like a mini cruise, while adults admire the coastal vistas. After disembarking, the road continues to Bhavnagar, a quiet coastal city with a royal past. By evening, you check into your hotel and unwind. Those interested may take a stroll near Takhteshwar Temple hill for a panoramic view of the city lights. The first day sets the mood for a trip filled with variety – roads, seas, and sacred towns ahead.Overnight Stay: Bhavnagar
Day 2: Bhavnagar – Sasan Gir (190 km / 5 hrs)
After a wholesome breakfast, the group departs for the legendary forests of Sasan Gir, home to the last Asiatic Lions on earth. The road winds through rustic Saurashtra villages where you glimpse everyday Gujarat – farmers working in cotton fields, women in colorful ghagras carrying water pots, and herds of camels and cattle grazing lazily. En route, tea and snack breaks give you a taste of Kathiawadi hospitality. By afternoon, you arrive at Gir and settle into your forest resort. The evening is spent close to nature – a short walk near the lodge, bird-watching opportunities, or enjoying a cultural performance by local tribes. As night falls, the distant calls of jackals and the deep silence of the forest heighten the excitement for the lion safari scheduled the next morning.Overnight Stay: Gir Jungle Lodge / Resort near Sasan Gir
Day 3: Sasan Gir – Somnath (70 km / 2 hrs)
The day starts at dawn with the highlight of the trip – a Gir National Park Jeep Safari. Entering the dense teak forests, dry deciduous terrain, and grassy clearings, you feel the thrill of being in lion territory. With luck, you may spot a lion pride basking in the sun, or even a lioness with cubs. Leopards, antelopes, blue bulls, and a stunning variety of birds add to the thrill. After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, return to the lodge for breakfast and soon depart for Somnath. The drive is short, allowing you to reach by noon. Somnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva, stands majestically by the Arabian Sea. In the evening, attend the soulful Aarti, where conch shells, temple bells, and chants create a divine atmosphere. As night falls, the Sound & Light Show unfolds on the temple walls, narrating Somnath’s tale of repeated destruction and miraculous rebuilding – a saga of faith, resilience, and glory.Overnight Stay: Somnath
Day 4: Somnath – Porbandar – Dwarka (230 km / 5–6 hrs)
After an early morning darshan at Somnath, the journey continues along the scenic coastal highway to Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. The group visits Kirti Mandir, Gandhi’s ancestral home, where his life story is displayed through preserved rooms, photographs, and memorabilia. The simple house contrasts powerfully with Gandhi’s towering global impact. Nearby stands the Sudama Mandir, a temple dedicated to Krishna’s childhood friend, reminding visitors of humility and friendship. Post-lunch, the road leads towards Dwarka, the fabled kingdom of Lord Krishna. Arriving by evening, you join hundreds of devotees in the Dwarkadhish Temple Aarti. The temple, illuminated with lamps, radiates devotion as priests chant ancient mantras. The day ends with the sense of having traveled from the story of Mahatma to the divine abode of Krishna – a journey that binds history, spirituality, and culture together.Overnight Stay: Dwarka
Day 5: Dwarka – Bet Dwarka & Snorkeling
This day is dedicated to a complete Dwarka experience. After breakfast, head to Okha Jetty for a short boat ride to Bet Dwarka, an island believed to have been Krishna’s residence. The boat journey over the Arabian Sea itself is delightful, with seabirds flying alongside. On the island, darshan at the temples fills the heart with devotion. Post-darshan, a thrilling activity awaits – snorkeling in the clear Arabian waters. With professional guidance, you witness colorful fish, corals, and marine life, making it an unforgettable family adventure. On the return, stop at the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, and the Rukmini Devi Temple, dedicated to Krishna’s consort. The evening is free to stroll in the local bazaars, buy souvenirs, or simply sit quietly by the Gomti Ghat, watching diyas float on the river. Dwarka’s blend of devotion and discovery makes the day magical.Overnight Stay: Dwarka
Day 6: Dwarka – Rajkot (225 km / 5 hrs)
After breakfast, the group departs for Rajkot, a city brimming with heritage. On arrival, the first stop is Kaba Gandhi No Delo, Gandhi’s childhood home, which now serves as a museum. Exhibits and preserved rooms provide an intimate view of the leader’s early years. The Rotary Dolls Museum is especially popular with children, displaying thousands of dolls from over 100 countries. Later, visit the Watson Museum, which houses royal artifacts and historical collections of Saurashtra. Evening is free for shopping in Rajkot’s lively bazaars, known for bandhni textiles, silver jewelry, and local snacks. Dinner is a treat with Kathiawadi thali, a delicious spread of spicy curries, bajra rotla, garlic chutney, and sweet dishes.Overnight Stay: Rajkot
Day 7: Rajkot – Salangpur – Bhavnagar (260 km / 6 hrs)
After breakfast, proceed towards Salangpur, home of the famous Kashtabhanjan Hanuman Temple. Considered one of the most powerful temples in Gujarat, devotees believe Lord Hanuman here frees people from obstacles and difficulties. The temple atmosphere is charged with energy, and the darshan leaves everyone with peace and positivity. From here, continue to Bhavnagar for your final night halt. In the evening, enjoy leisure time at the hotel or a relaxed outing to local markets. It is a good time to shop for handicrafts or savor Gujarati snacks like gathiya, dhokla, and jalebi.Overnight Stay: Bhavnagar
Day 8: Bhavnagar – Surat (via Jetty) – Nashik (580 km / 10–11 hrs)
On the final day, bid farewell to Bhavnagar and head towards the ferry point. The morning ferry across the Gulf of Khambhat once again refreshes the soul, as the group enjoys sea views one last time. Disembarking near Surat, the drive resumes towards Nashik. The return journey is filled with laughter, shared memories, and discussions of favorite moments – the lion safari, the Aarti at Somnath, snorkeling at Dwarka, and the blessings at Salangpur. By evening, you arrive back in Nashik, completing a fulfilling Gujarat coastal and spiritual circuit.Tour Ends with Memories & Blessings.
