This 9-day journey takes travellers through some of the most scenic destinations of Eastern India. The tour begins in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, known for its beautiful landscapes, monasteries, and lively markets. Travellers explore famous attractions such as Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir located near the Indo-China border, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

From Gangtok, the journey continues to Pelling, a peaceful hill town in West Sikkim that offers some of the most spectacular views of Mount Kanchenjunga. Visitors explore historic monasteries, ancient ruins, waterfalls, and scenic viewpoints that make Pelling one of the most beautiful destinations in Sikkim.

The tour then moves to Darjeeling, the famous “Queen of the Hills.” Known for its tea gardens and colonial charm, Darjeeling offers incredible sunrise views from Tiger Hill and several cultural attractions including monasteries and museums.

The final destination is Kolkata, a city rich in history, culture, and spirituality. With its grand colonial monuments, famous temples, and vibrant markets, Kolkata provides a wonderful cultural ending to this Himalayan journey.

This tour perfectly combines mountains, monasteries, natural beauty, and heritage experiences, making it ideal for families and groups looking to explore the beauty of Eastern India.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival and Transfer to Gangtok

Arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. After meeting the driver, begin the scenic drive to Gangtok which takes around 4–5 hours. The journey runs along the beautiful Teesta River with stunning views of hills and valleys.

After reaching Gangtok, check in to the hotel and relax. In the evening travellers may explore MG Marg, the popular market area filled with cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Overnight stay in Gangtok.




Day 2 – Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir Excursion

After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake located at an altitude of about 12,000 feet. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, the lake offers breathtaking Himalayan scenery.

Travellers can enjoy yak rides near the lake and take memorable photographs. From here the journey continues to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a shrine dedicated to an Indian soldier who is believed to protect soldiers stationed in this region.

Return to Gangtok in the evening.

Day 3 – Gangtok Local Sightseeing

After breakfast begin local sightseeing of Gangtok. Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, and the famous Rumtek Monastery which is one of the most important monasteries in Sikkim.

Travellers also visit the Flower Exhibition Centre and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology which showcases Tibetan culture and history.

Evening free for shopping and leisure.

Day 4 – Gangtok to Pelling

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Pelling. The journey takes around 5–6 hours through scenic mountain roads and small Sikkimese villages.

Upon arrival check in to the hotel and relax. If weather permits travellers can enjoy spectacular sunset views of Mount Kanchenjunga from the hotel.

Day 5 – Pelling Sightseeing

After breakfast explore the beautiful attractions of Pelling. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, and Rabdentse Ruins which were once the capital of the Sikkim kingdom.

Travellers also visit the famous Sky Walk near the Chenrezig Statue which offers amazing views of the mountains. Other attractions include Khecheopalri Lake and Rimbi Waterfall.

Day 6 – Pelling to Darjeeling

After breakfast drive to Darjeeling which takes around 4–5 hours. The road journey passes through forests, tea gardens, and small hill towns.

On arrival check in to the hotel. Evening free to explore Mall Road and Chowrasta area.

Day 7 – Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early morning visit Tiger Hill to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga. On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop.

After breakfast continue sightseeing including Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Tibetan Refugee Centre, and Tea Gardens.

Overnight stay in Darjeeling.





Day 8 – Darjeeling to Kolkata

After breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for onward journey to Kolkata by flight or train.

Upon arrival check in to the hotel and relax. Evening free to explore local markets or enjoy Kolkata street food.

Overnight stay in Kolkata.





Day 9 – Kolkata Sightseeing and Departure

After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Kolkata. Visit Victoria Memorial, Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Howrah Bridge, and Belur Math.

Later transfer to Kolkata Airport or Railway Station for onward journey.

Tour ends with wonderful memories of the Himalayas and the vibrant culture of Eastern India.

Advanced Preparation

  • As everyone is becoming a frequent traveller now, we suggest that you make your own travel accessories kit to ensure a stress free holiday.

  • Always make sure to carry less and light luggage, use a four wheel small or medium suitcase and please make sure that you are carrying only one suitcase per person. This will ensure that you will travel smartly and without any inconveniences.

  • It is also recommended that you have one cross shoulder bag or haversack for your handy needs which will ensure that you are comfortable at the time of sightseeing and also easy for photography during your tour.

  • A smart cap/hat and sunglasses are definitely something that you should have in your kit.

  • Though Bharatatva provides all three meals, that is breakfast, dinner and Bharatatva treats as per the itinerary, you can carry dry snacks of your choice in small sealed packets for munching during air travel or road journeys.

  • If you are travelling during the monsoon or to destinations where it is rainy, please carry a small umbrella or poncho.

  • Guests will be needed to pay an advance booking amount of Rs.10,000/- per person to raise invoice and Air/ Train Ticket Blocking/Booking.

  • Anu Discount/ offer Coupon Codes are to be informed before Raising the invoice.

  • 50% Advance at the Time of booking after receiving Invoice and rest 15 Days prior to tour start date.

  • Any Air/ Train Bookings to be made should be paid 100% in advance

  • In case of offers applied with more than 40% Discount then 100% in Advance.

  • 0% Cancellation for any land package bookings 45 Days before departure.

  • 30% Cancellation for any land package bookings 15 Days before departure.

  • 100% Cancellation for any land package bookings 7 Days before departure.

  • Cancellation of Air/ Train Tickets subject to cancellation policy of respective train/ flight operator.

  • Guest can pay by Cash /Online Transfer/ Cheque/ Demand Draft / Debit card / credit card.
