Day 1 – Guwahati Arrival → Shillong (100 km / 3 hrs)

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will assist you with your transfer to Shillong, the charming capital of Meghalaya. As you leave behind the bustling city of Guwahati, the landscape gradually transforms into lush green hills, winding roads, and refreshing mountain air, setting the perfect tone for your holiday.

Enroute, you will visit the beautiful Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani Lake. This serene reservoir, surrounded by rolling hills, offers a peaceful break after your journey. It is an ideal spot to relax, stretch, and capture some stunning photographs against a scenic backdrop.

Continuing your drive, you will reach Shillong by evening. After checking into your Deluxe hotel, you can take some time to freshen up and unwind. Later in the evening, you may step out to explore Police Bazaar, the lively heart of Shillong. This vibrant market is perfect for experiencing local culture, trying street food, and shopping for souvenirs.

Day 2 – Shillong → Cherrapunji (60 km / 2 hrs)

After a refreshing breakfast, you will begin your journey towards Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth, famous for its dramatic landscapes, misty valleys, and breathtaking waterfalls. The drive itself is a visual delight, with clouds floating alongside you and endless greenery surrounding the road.

Your first stop will be Shillong Peak, the highest point in the region, offering panoramic views of the city and the surrounding hills. Next, visit the beautiful Elephant Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall set amidst dense greenery, where you can enjoy a short walk and capture memorable photographs.

As you continue your journey, the terrain becomes more rugged and scenic. Upon reaching Cherrapunji, you will visit the magnificent Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India, known for its dramatic drop into a turquoise pool below. The view here is truly mesmerizing.

You will also explore the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, a natural limestone cave where you can walk through narrow passages and admire unique rock formations. If time permits, you may also visit the Seven Sisters Falls, especially beautiful during the monsoon season.

Day 3 – Cherrapunji → Living Root Bridge → Dawki → Mawlynnong → Shillong

Today is the most exciting and adventurous day of your tour. After an early breakfast, you will head towards the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge, a unique natural marvel created by the roots of ancient rubber trees. The trek involves descending several steps through dense forest paths, but the experience is truly rewarding and unforgettable.

After completing the trek, you will proceed towards Dawki, located near the India-Bangladesh border. Dawki is renowned for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, where boats appear to float in mid-air due to the incredible transparency of the water. After breakfast, you will begin your journey towards Kaziranga National Park, one of India’s most famous wildlife destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This will be the longest travel day of your tour, but the journey is comfortable and filled with scenic beauty.

As you descend from the hills of Meghalaya into the plains of Assam, you will notice a gradual change in landscape, culture, and climate. The route takes you through picturesque countryside, dotted with tea gardens, small villages, and open fields, offering a glimpse into the local lifestyle of Assam.

The drive is well-paced, with planned stops for refreshments and relaxation to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey. The changing scenery keeps the experience engaging throughout the day.

Upon arrival at Kaziranga, check into your Deluxe resort surrounded by natural beauty. The park is globally famous for its population of the one-horned rhinoceros and rich biodiversity.

The evening is free for leisure. You can relax at the property, take a short walk around, or simply unwind after the long journey. Enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel and prepare for the exciting safari experience scheduled for the next day. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 5 – Kaziranga Safari Experience

Your day begins early with an exciting wildlife experience in Kaziranga National Park. In the early morning, you will proceed for the Elephant Safari (subject to availability), which offers a unique and close encounter with nature. Riding through the misty grasslands on an elephant gives you a different perspective of the forest and increases your chances of spotting wildlife, especially the famous one-horned rhinoceros.

After the safari, return to the resort for breakfast and some relaxation. The peaceful surroundings of Kaziranga, with its greenery and fresh air, make it a perfect place to unwind.

Later in the day, get ready for another thrilling experience — the Jeep Safari, which is included in your Deluxe package. This safari covers a larger area of the park and allows you to explore deeper zones of the forest. Accompanied by an experienced driver and guide, you may spot a wide variety of wildlife including rhinoceroses, wild elephants, swamp deer, buffalo, and numerous bird species.

As you travel, you will notice the cultural shift from the forested areas of Kaziranga to the more urban setting of Guwahati. The journey is planned in a relaxed manner with short breaks to ensure comfort throughout.

Upon arrival in Guwahati, you will visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peeths in India. Located on the Nilachal Hill, the temple holds immense spiritual significance and also offers panoramic views of the city and the Brahmaputra River.

Later, you may visit the Brahmaputra Riverfront and spend some peaceful time enjoying the surroundings. If time permits, you can also opt for a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River, where the calm waters and golden hues of the setting sun create a memorable experience.

After sightseeing, check into your hotel in Guwahati. The evening is free for relaxation. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and unwind after the day’s journey.
