Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra Arrival – Transfer to Gangtok (120 km / 4-5 hrs)

Your Himalayan journey begins as you arrive at Bagdogra Airport, where our representative greets you with a warm welcome. As you step out, the fresh mountain breeze already hints at the beautiful days ahead. Soon, you begin your scenic drive towards Gangtok, the charming capital of Sikkim.

The journey itself is a visual treat. As the plains slowly fade away, winding mountain roads take over, accompanied by the sparkling Teesta River flowing alongside. Lush green hills, hanging bridges, and small roadside stalls serving tea and snacks make this drive truly enjoyable. You can even pause for photos or a quick refreshment break — after all, this is your customized journey.

By late afternoon or evening, you arrive in Gangtok, a vibrant hill town perched amidst the clouds. After check-in at your hotel, take some time to relax and freshen up. As the evening sets in, head out to MG Marg, the heart of the city. This lively street is known for its clean environment, colorful shops, cozy cafés, and peaceful vibe with no traffic or honking.

Enjoy a hot cup of tea or try some local delicacies while soaking in the cool weather. You may also shop for souvenirs or simply enjoy a relaxed walk. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay, as your Himalayan adventure has just begun.

Day 2: Gangtok Local Sightseeing – Culture & Scenic Views

Wake up to a refreshing morning in the hills and enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Today is dedicated to exploring the beauty, culture, and spirituality of Gangtok.

Your first stop is Tashi View Point, offering a mesmerizing view of Mt. Kanchenjunga on a clear day. Watching the mighty peaks from a distance is truly a magical experience. Next, visit Ganesh Tok, a small temple located at a height, where both spiritual peace and stunning city views come together beautifully.

Continue your journey to the serene Enchey Monastery, a peaceful place filled with prayer chants and a calming atmosphere. The visit gives you a glimpse into the rich Buddhist culture of the region. Later, explore the Flower Exhibition Centre, showcasing vibrant Himalayan flowers, followed by the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, known for its rare collection of Buddhist manuscripts and artifacts.

Post lunch, visit Banjhakri Falls, a scenic waterfall surrounded by landscaped gardens and cultural statues, making it a great spot for photos and relaxation.

By evening, return to MG Marg for some leisure time. You can enjoy shopping, café hopping, or simply relaxing in the pleasant weather. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (High Altitude Experience)

After an early breakfast, get ready for one of the most exciting days of your trip. Today, you travel towards the stunning Tsomgo Lake, located at an altitude of around 12,000 feet.

The drive itself is thrilling, with sharp curves, changing landscapes, and breathtaking mountain views. As you ascend higher, you will notice the vegetation slowly changing into rocky terrain and snow-covered patches, especially during winter and early summer.

Upon reaching Tsomgo Lake, you will be mesmerized by its beauty. The lake remains partially frozen in colder months and reflects the surrounding snow-clad mountains, creating a picture-perfect view. You can enjoy a yak ride or simply spend time soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Next, visit Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a sacred place dedicated to an Indian soldier believed to protect the region even today. The place holds deep emotional and spiritual significance, especially for the Indian Army.

If permits and weather conditions allow, you may also opt for a visit to Nathula Pass (additional cost), located on the Indo-China border, offering a rare and thrilling experience.

Return to Gangtok by evening, feeling amazed by the high-altitude adventure. Enjoy a warm dinner and relax at your hotel.

Day 4: Gangtok to Lachung – Into the Heart of North Sikkim (110 km / 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your journey towards Lachung, a picturesque village in North Sikkim. Today’s drive is one of the most scenic parts of your tour.

As you travel through winding mountain roads, you will witness stunning waterfalls, deep valleys, and dense forests. The famous Seven Sisters Waterfall is a major highlight, where cascading water flows down multiple levels, creating a beautiful sight. There will be short stops along the way for photography and refreshments.

Midway, enjoy a simple yet delicious lunch at a local restaurant, where you may also get a taste of authentic Sikkimese cuisine. As you continue your journey, the air becomes cooler and fresher, and the surroundings more serene.

By late afternoon, you reach Lachung, a peaceful village surrounded by mountains and rivers. Check in to your hotel or homestay and relax. The calmness of this place, away from city noise, offers a truly refreshing experience.

Spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the natural beauty and chilly weather. Have an early dinner and rest well, as the next day brings an unforgettable visit to Yumthang Valley.

Day 5: Yumthang Valley Excursion – Return to Gangtok

Start your day early as you wake up amidst the peaceful surroundings of Lachung. After a warm breakfast, get ready for one of the most beautiful experiences of your journey — a visit to Yumthang Valley, famously known as the “Valley of Flowers.”

As you drive further north, the landscape transforms into a dreamlike setting. Snow-covered peaks, open meadows, and the gently flowing river create a postcard-perfect view at every turn. During spring, the valley blooms with colorful rhododendrons, while in winter, it turns into a white wonderland covered in snow.

Spend some peaceful time here walking along the river, clicking photos, or simply enjoying the silence and fresh mountain air. The valley sits at an altitude of around 11,800 feet, making the experience both refreshing and thrilling.

For those seeking more adventure, an optional visit to Zero Point can be arranged (subject to weather and road conditions). This is where the road ends and snow begins, offering a raw Himalayan experience.

After soaking in the beauty, return to Lachung for lunch and then begin your journey back to Gangtok. The return drive may be long, but the scenic views keep you engaged throughout.

By evening, you reach Gangtok and check into your hotel. Relax and unwind after a fulfilling day. Enjoy a warm dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 6: Gangtok to Pelling via Ravangla (130 km / 5-6 hrs)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your journey towards Pelling, another beautiful destination known for its panoramic mountain views.

En route, stop at Ravangla, a hidden gem in South Sikkim. The main attraction here is Buddha Park, home to a magnificent 130-foot statue of Lord Buddha. Surrounded by lush greenery and mountains, this place offers a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. Take a walk around the park, click photos, and spend some quiet moments soaking in the serenity.

After the visit, continue your drive towards Pelling. The journey takes you through winding roads, dense forests, and charming villages, offering glimpses of rural life in Sikkim. The changing landscapes make the drive interesting and enjoyable.

By afternoon, arrive in Pelling and check into your hotel. This quiet town is known for its stunning views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, especially during clear weather.

Spend the evening at leisure. You can relax at your hotel, enjoy the cool breeze, or take a short walk nearby. The peaceful surroundings of Pelling offer the perfect break from busy city life.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Pelling Sightseeing – Nature & Heritage Exploration

Wake up to a beautiful morning in Pelling, often blessed with clear views of the mighty Kanchenjunga. After breakfast, begin your local sightseeing tour.

Start with a visit to Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Sikkim. The calm surroundings and spiritual vibe make it a peaceful place to explore.

Next, head to the Rabdentse Ruins, which were once the capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim. A short walk through the forest leads you to these historic remains, offering both a glimpse into the past and stunning valley views.

Continue your journey to Khecheopalri Lake, considered a sacred and wish-fulfilling lake. Surrounded by dense forests, the lake is known for its cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere.

Return to your hotel by evening. Spend some time relaxing and revisiting the memories of your journey so far. Enjoy dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 8: Pelling to Darjeeling (80 km / 4-5 hrs)

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Darjeeling, one of the most famous hill stations in India.

The drive to Darjeeling is scenic, passing through tea gardens, small villages, and winding hill roads. As you enter Darjeeling, you will notice a shift in atmosphere, with colonial-era buildings and a charming old-world vibe.

After arrival, check into your hotel and relax for a while. In the evening, step out to explore the famous Mall Road and Chowrasta area. This lively spot is perfect for leisurely walks, shopping, and enjoying local food.

You can visit small cafés, try Darjeeling tea, or simply sit and enjoy the pleasant weather. The views from here are beautiful, especially during sunset.

Return to your hotel in the evening. Rest well, as the next day brings one of the most iconic experiences of the trip.

Day 9: Tiger Hill Sunrise – Departure to Bagdogra

Start your day very early, before sunrise, as you head towards Tiger Hill. This is one of the most famous viewpoints in Darjeeling.

As the sun rises, the sky slowly lights up in shades of orange and gold, illuminating the snow-covered peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga. On clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of Mount Everest in the distance. It is truly a magical and unforgettable experience.

On your way back, stop at Batasia Loop, a unique spiral railway track offering scenic views and a war memorial. Also visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the region.

After returning to the hotel, have breakfast and check out. Depending on your departure timing, you may explore nearby attractions or proceed directly towards Bagdogra Airport.
