Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati (22 km / 45 mins)

  • Arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and transfer to your hotel.

  • Visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of India’s most revered Shakti Peethas, famous for its spiritual energy and unique architecture.

  • In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River with live Assamese cultural performances, local cuisine, and stunning golden-hour views.

  • Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 2: Guwahati → Kaziranga National Park (190 km / 4–5 hrs)

  • After breakfast, drive through scenic NH-37 passing tea gardens, villages, and glimpses of the Brahmaputra.

  • Arrive at Kaziranga, check into your resort, and enjoy lunch amidst lush surroundings.

  • Visit the Kaziranga Visitor Centre to learn about conservation efforts and local biodiversity.

  • Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Day 3: Kaziranga Safari → Dirang (133 km / 3–4 hrs)

  • Early morning Jeep Safari in Kaziranga’s core zone, spotting the world-famous one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, and diverse birdlife.

  • Return for breakfast, then drive to Dirang, crossing into Arunachal Pradesh at Bhalukpong.

  • Arrive at the picturesque Dirang Valley (5,200 ft), known for its apple orchards and Monpa tribal culture.

  • Visit natural hot springs and interact with local families.

  • Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 4: Dirang → Tawang via Sela Pass (140 km / 4–5 hrs)

  • After breakfast, drive through dramatic Himalayan landscapes towards Tawang.

  • Cross the spectacular Sela Pass (13,700 ft) with its sacred lakes, fluttering prayer flags, and breathtaking mountain views.

  • En route, stop at Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat’s heroism during the 1962 Indo-China War.

  • Arrive in Tawang (10,000 ft) by evening and check into your accommodation.

  • Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 5: Tawang Monastery & Local Exploration

  • Visit the iconic Tawang Monastery (Galden Namgyal Lhatse), India’s largest and the world’s second-largest monastery.

  • Explore its 26-ft golden Buddha statue, assembly hall, library of ancient manuscripts, and museum.

  • Later visit Tawang War Memorial, Urgeling Monastery (birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama), and the vibrant local market.

  • Evening at leisure with Monpa cuisine (try momos, thukpa, and butter tea).

Day 6: Excursion to Bum La Pass, Madhuri Lake & Nuranang Falls

  • Early departure for Bum La Pass (15,000 ft) on the Indo-China border (subject to permits).

  • Visit Madhuri Lake (Sangetsar Lake) – a glacial lake named after Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit.

  • Stop at the magnificent Nuranang/Jang Falls, a 100-m tall cascade surrounded by forests.

  • Return to Tawang, with time to visit Ani Gompa Nunnery.

  • Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 7: Tawang → Bomdila (175 km / 5–6 hrs)

  • Drive back through scenic Himalayan roads with another stop at Sela Pass for morning photography.

  • Visit Monpa villages and apple orchards en route.

  • Arrive in Bomdila (8,500 ft), known for its Upper Gompa Monastery, apple cultivation, and craft centers.

  • Explore local handicrafts, woolens, and Buddhist culture.

  • Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 8: Bomdila → Shillong (349 km / 5.5–6 hrs)

  • Begin the long but scenic drive, crossing Tezpur and the Brahmaputra River, before entering Meghalaya’s lush Khasi Hills.

  • Arrive in Shillong, the “Scotland of the East”.

  • Evening stroll through Police Bazaar, enjoying shopping and local Khasi cuisine.

  • Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 9: Shillong → Cherrapunjee (53 km / 1.5–2 hrs)

  • Drive to Cherrapunjee (Sohra), famous as one of the wettest places on Earth.

  • Visit:

    • Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall.

    • Mawsmai Cave – limestone formations.

    • Seven Sisters Falls – seven-segmented natural cascade.

Day 10: Cherrapunjee → Mawlynnong & Dawki → Return

Advanced Preparation
  • As everyone is becoming a frequent traveller now, we suggest that you make your own travel accessories kit to ensure a stress free holiday.

  • Always make sure to carry less and light luggage, use a four wheel small or medium suitcase and please make sure that you are carrying only one suitcase per person. This will ensure that you will travel smartly and without any inconveniences.

  • 50% Advance at the Time of booking after receiving Invoice and rest 15 Days prior to tour start date.

  • Any Air/ Train Bookings to be made should be paid 100% in advance

  • In case of offers applied with more than 40% Discount then 100% in Advance.

  • 0% Cancellation for any land package bookings 45 Days before departure.

  • 30% Cancellation for any land package bookings 15 Days before departure.

  • 100% Cancellation for any land package bookings 7 Days before departure.
