Day wise Itinerary
Day 1 – 1 Nov | Belgaum to Indore – Arrival in the Heart of India
Your soulful Madhya Pradesh adventure begins as you board an early-morning flight from Belgaum to Indore (via Bengaluru). On arrival at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, you’ll be welcomed by a warm breeze carrying the aroma of Indore’s famous poha-jalebi. Transfer to your pre-booked 3★ hotel and relax after check-in. In the evening, take a gentle orientation drive through Indore City — see Rajwada Palace glowing in royal lights, visit the serene Kanch Mandir (Jain Glass Temple), and end your stroll at Sarafa Bazaar. The vibrant night street market comes alive with tempting snacks like Bhutte ka Kees and Garadu. Enjoy the mix of heritage and hospitality before returning to your hotel for a cozy overnight stay.🛏 Overnight in Indore
Day 2 – Indore → Omkareshwar → Maheshwar → Indore
After breakfast, embark on a sacred drive along the Narmada River toward Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, one of India’s twelve holiest Shiva shrines. The temple sits on an island shaped like the sacred ‘Om’ symbol. Walk along Omkar Parikrama Path, witness aarti on the ghats, and feel the devotion in the air. Continue to Maheshwar (65 km / 1.5 hrs), a tranquil town where Ahilya Bai Holkar once ruled. Explore Ahilya Fort overlooking the Narmada, admire the chhatris (memorial cenotaphs), and browse hand-woven Maheshwari sarees — a perfect souvenir. Late evening return drive to Indore with the sun setting behind the Narmada.🛏 Overnight in Indore
Day 3 – Indore → Mandu → Ujjain
Today after breakfast, proceed to Mandu, the “City of Joy.” This ancient fortified town on a hill is famous for its romantic architecture and Afghan influence. Visit the soaring Jahaz Mahal — a palace that appears to float between two lakes, the graceful Hindola Mahal, and the poetic Roopmati Pavilion, from where Queen Roopmati once watched the Narmada River. Pause for local Malwa lunch amid stone arches and ancient banyan trees. By late afternoon, drive toward Ujjain, the sacred city on the banks of the Shipra River. As dusk falls, witness the evening aarti at Ram Ghat — the sight of lamps floating on the river creates a divine aura you’ll never forget. Check into your Ujjain hotel for rest.🛏 Overnight in Ujjain
Day 4 – Ujjain – Mahakaleshwar Darshan – Bhopal
Before sunrise, walk toward Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the most revered temples of Lord Shiva. Attend the famous Bhasma Aarti if you’ve booked in advance — a spiritual experience where ashes symbolize the cycle of life. After darshan, visit Kaal Bhairav Temple and seek the protector’s blessings. After breakfast, depart for Bhopal (190 km / 4 hrs). En route, stop for refreshing tea in Sehore’s green fields. Arrive in Bhopal, the ‘City of Lakes,’ and check into your hotel. Evening at Upper Lake promenade with boat ride (optional).🛏 Overnight in Bhopal
Day 5 – Bhopal → Sanchi → Bhopal
After breakfast, head to Sanchi (50 km / 1.5 hrs), home to India’s oldest Buddhist structures built by Emperor Ashoka. Explore the Great Stupa with its ornate gateways depicting scenes from Buddha’s life. Visit the archaeological museum showcasing ancient relics and inscriptions. The calm village of Sanchi exudes an atmosphere of peace and enlightenment. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Bhopal and spend your evening at Leisure Mall or enjoy a quiet stroll along Lower Lake. Bhopal is a blend of modern comfort and royal grace, making it a perfect base for the next leg of your journey.🛏 Overnight in Bhopal
Day 6 – Bhopal → Bhojpur & Bhimbetka → Bhopal
This morning explore the ancient wonders around Bhopal. Drive to Bhojpur, where the unfinished 11th-century temple houses a 17-foot Shivling — among the largest in India. It was built by King Bhoja and still stands tall against the sky. Continue to Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, a UNESCO site with prehistoric cave paintings over 10,000 years old. The paintings depict hunters, animals, and tribal life, connecting you with early human civilization. Enjoy packed lunch or local dhaba meal on the way back to Bhopal. Evening free for shopping at New Market or relaxing by the lake.🛏 Overnight in Bhopal
Day 7 – Bhopal Local Exploration
After a hearty breakfast, delve into Bhopal’s fusion of heritage and nature. Start with a boat ride on Upper Lake, then visit Van Vihar National Park, a green oasis in the heart of the city. Explore Bharat Bhavan for art, music and theatre, and Taj-ul-Masajid, one of Asia’s largest mosques with soaring minarets and marble domes. Later, visit the Tribal Museum and Indira Gandhi Manav Sangrahalaya to learn about India’s rich ethnic diversity. Wrap up the evening with local Bhopali delicacies like seekh kababs or vegetarian nargisi kofta.🛏 Overnight in Bhopal
Day 8 – Departure from Bhopal → Belgaum
After breakfast, bid farewell to Madhya Pradesh. Transfer to Bhopal Airport for your flight to Belgaum (via Bengaluru or Mumbai). As you fly home, carry with you the spiritual blessings of Lord Shiva, the peace of Sanchi, and the timeless memories of central India’s beauty and hospitality. End of Tour with Sweet Memories
