Day wise Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival & Journey into the Himalayas (Bagdogra to Gangtok)
As your flight lands at Bagdogra or your train reaches NJP, the excitement of the mountains begins instantly. After meeting your driver, you start your journey towards Gangtok, and within a short time, the scenery transforms beautifully. The plains slowly disappear, and lush green hills take over, welcoming you into the Eastern Himalayas.
The drive along the Teesta River is truly magical. The river flows with a vibrant turquoise color, cutting through the mountains, while the road curves alongside it like a ribbon. Small tea stalls, hanging bridges, and local villages add life to the journey. A quick halt at a viewpoint allows you to stretch, sip some chai, and capture stunning photos.
As you move higher, the air becomes cooler and fresher. The hustle of city life fades away, replaced by calmness and scenic beauty. By late afternoon or evening, you reach Gangtok, the charming capital of Sikkim.
After check-in, you can relax or step out to explore MG Marg, a clean and lively street filled with cafés, shops, and local vibes. Whether it’s tasting local food or just enjoying a quiet walk, the evening sets the perfect tone for your trip.
Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 2 – Snow, Borders & High-Altitude Thrill (Tsomgo – Baba Mandir – Nathula)
Today is all about adventure and breathtaking high-altitude experiences. After an early breakfast, you begin your journey towards the eastern Himalayan heights.
The first stop is Tsomgo Lake, a stunning glacial lake surrounded by mountains. Depending on the season, you may find it partially frozen or reflecting the sky like a mirror. Colorful prayer flags flutter around, adding to the beauty. You can enjoy a yak ride or simply soak in the peaceful surroundings.
Next, you visit Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a unique shrine dedicated to an Indian Army soldier. The place holds deep emotional and spiritual significance, and the disciplined environment maintained by the army makes the visit even more special.
If weather and permits allow, the journey continues to Nathula Pass. Standing at the Indo-China border at over 14,000 ft is an unforgettable moment. The cold winds, snow patches, and army presence make you realize the true essence of this place.
By evening, you return to Gangtok. After a day filled with excitement, a warm dinner and comfortable rest feel just right.
Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 3 – Into the Wild Beauty of North Sikkim (Gangtok to Lachung)
After breakfast, you check out and begin your journey towards Lachung, a serene mountain village in North Sikkim. This is where the real untouched beauty begins.
The road takes you through dense forests, waterfalls, and winding mountain paths. Your first major stop is Singhik View Point, offering clear views of snow-covered peaks. The view here is simply mesmerizing and gives a glimpse of what lies ahead.
As you continue, you encounter the Seven Sisters Waterfall, cascading down multiple tiers like a natural staircase. It’s a perfect spot for photos. Further ahead, the powerful Naga Waterfall greets you with its roaring flow.
The journey is long but incredibly scenic. Small villages, army camps, and mist-covered roads make it feel like a proper Himalayan expedition. A lunch break is taken at a local restaurant along the way.
By evening, you reach Lachung, a quiet and peaceful village surrounded by mountains. After hotel check-in, enjoy a simple yet comforting dinner.
The silence of the mountains and the chilly weather make this night truly special.
Overnight stay in Lachung.
Day 4 – Valley of Flowers & Snow Adventures (Yumthang & Zero Point)
Wake up early as today brings one of the most beautiful experiences of the entire trip. After breakfast, you head towards Yumthang Valley.
As you enter the valley, the landscape opens up into wide meadows surrounded by towering mountains. Known as the “Valley of Flowers,” Yumthang looks different in every season—lush green in summer, colorful during bloom, and snow-covered in winter.
A river flows gently through the valley, and the fresh mountain air adds to the magical experience. It’s a place where you just want to pause and absorb the beauty.
From here, you can continue to Zero Point (optional), located at a much higher altitude. Covered in snow most of the year, this place feels like a winter wonderland. Playing in the snow, clicking photos, and enjoying the raw beauty becomes the highlight of your trip.
After spending quality time, you return to Lachung for lunch. The rest of the evening is free to relax.
Dinner and overnight stay in Lachung.
Day 5 – Long Scenic Drive to Pelling via Namchi
After breakfast in the peaceful surroundings of Lachung, you begin your journey towards Pelling. Today is a long travel day, but honestly, in Sikkim, even travel feels like sightseeing.
As you descend from North Sikkim, the landscapes slowly change—snowy peaks give way to green valleys and flowing rivers. You pass through Gangtok and continue towards Namchi, a beautiful town known for its spiritual importance.
At Namchi, you visit Samdruptse Hill, home to a massive statue that stands tall against the backdrop of mountains. The calm atmosphere and panoramic views make this stop refreshing during the long journey.
The road ahead continues with scenic beauty at every turn—waterfalls, forests, and small villages where life moves at its own relaxed pace. Though the journey is long (around 9–10 hours in total), it never feels boring.
By evening, you reach Pelling, a quiet hill town famous for its views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. After hotel check-in, you can simply relax and enjoy the cool weather.

Day 6 – Pelling Exploration & Drive to Darjeeling
After breakfast, you begin exploring the beautiful town of Pelling, which is known for its blend of nature, history, and spirituality.
Your first stop is the famous Skywalk, where you walk on a glass bridge with stunning views of the valley below. It’s a unique and slightly thrilling experience. Nearby stands the giant Chenrezig statue, adding a spiritual touch to the visit.
Next, you visit Khecheopalri Lake, considered sacred and wish-fulfilling. The peaceful surroundings and calm water create a soothing experience. Then comes Rabdentse Ruins, the remains of Sikkim’s old capital, offering a glimpse into history amidst forested surroundings.
You also visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, known for its rich cultural heritage.
After completing sightseeing, you begin your drive to Darjeeling. The journey is scenic, with tea gardens and rolling hills welcoming you into West Bengal.
By evening, you arrive in Darjeeling, check into your hotel, and relax.

Day 7 – Darjeeling Sightseeing & Himalayan Charm
Early morning, you head to Tiger Hill to witness one of the most famous sunrises in India. As the first rays of sunlight hit Mt. Kanchenjunga, the peaks glow in golden shades—an unforgettable sight.
On your way back, you visit Batasia Loop, a unique railway loop with beautiful garden surroundings, and Ghoom Monastery, known for its peaceful vibe.
After breakfast, the day continues with local sightseeing. One of the highlights is the Toy Train ride (subject to availability), a UNESCO heritage experience that takes you through scenic routes of Darjeeling.
You also visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, Tea Gardens, Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, and Tenzing Rock. Each place adds a different flavor to your experience—adventure, nature, and culture all in one day.
Darjeeling’s old-world charm, cool weather, and relaxed pace make it very special.
Return to hotel by evening.
Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 8 – Departure with Lifetime Memories
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the mountains. You check out from the hotel and, if time permits, explore the famous Mall Road.
This is the perfect place for last-minute shopping—tea, handicrafts, woollens, and souvenirs to take back a piece of the Himalayas with you.
Soon, you begin your journey towards Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. As the hills slowly fade and plains return, you carry along unforgettable memories—snow-covered landscapes, peaceful monasteries, thrilling drives, and countless beautiful moments.
