The route takes you through the peaceful town of Dirang, known for its monasteries, apple orchards, and the serene Sangti Valley. As the journey progresses, you cross the breathtaking Sela Pass, one of the most beautiful high-altitude passes in India, along with the mesmerizing Sela Lake. En route, meaningful stops like Jaswant Garh War Memorial and the stunning Jung Falls add both emotional and visual depth to the experience.

The highlight of the tour is Tawang, a culturally rich destination surrounded by snow-clad mountains. Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival at Guwahati

Arrive at Guwahati, the gateway to North-East India, where your journey into the Eastern Himalayas begins. Upon arrival at the airport or railway station, you will be warmly received and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, take some time to relax and freshen up after your journey.

If your arrival is early and time permits, you may visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peethas in India, located atop Nilachal Hill. The temple offers not only spiritual significance but also panoramic views of the mighty Brahmaputra River flowing through the city. Later, you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the riverfront or explore local markets for Assamese handicrafts and souvenirs.

The first day is intentionally kept light to allow proper rest before heading into the mountainous terrain in the coming days. Guwahati provides a perfect transition point between plains and hills, preparing you for the scenic adventure ahead.

In the evening, enjoy a comfortable dinner at the hotel and relax. A briefing about the upcoming journey, road conditions, and travel essentials can also be done to ensure a smooth experience.

Day 2 – Guwahati to Dirang (Approx 320 km / 9–10 hrs)

After an early breakfast, begin your long yet scenic drive towards Dirang. This day marks your gradual ascent into the Eastern Himalayas. The route passes through Assam’s lush greenery and slowly transitions into hilly terrain as you enter Arunachal Pradesh.

En route, you will pass through regions like Udalguri and Bhalukpong, where inner line permit formalities are completed. The journey is filled with changing landscapes—from plains to forested hills, river valleys, and winding mountain roads. The drive itself is an experience, offering glimpses of rural life and untouched natural beauty.

You may also get opportunities to stop at small viewpoints or roadside spots to enjoy tea while soaking in the serene surroundings. As you approach Dirang, the air becomes cooler and the scenery more dramatic, with pine forests and mountain streams enhancing the experience.

Arrive in Dirang by evening and check into your hotel. Dirang is a peaceful Himalayan town known for its calm environment and natural charm. After a long drive, relax and enjoy a warm meal.

Day 3 – Dirang to Tawang via Sela Pass (Approx 140 km / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed towards Tawang, one of the most awaited destinations of the tour. This day offers one of the most breathtaking drives of the entire journey.

The highlight is crossing the majestic Sela Pass, situated at an altitude of over 13,000 feet. The pass is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and is often covered in mist, creating a magical atmosphere. Just beside the pass lies the beautiful Sela Lake (Panga Tang Tso), whose crystal-clear waters reflect the surrounding mountains.

Further ahead, visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, a tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers. The journey continues with a stop at the spectacular Jung Falls, one of the most scenic waterfalls in the region.

The route also passes through Jang Valley, offering stunning valley views and photo opportunities. By evening, reach Tawang and check into your hotel.

Day 4 – Tawang Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore the cultural and natural highlights of Tawang. Begin with a visit to the iconic Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and a major center of Mahayana Buddhism. The monastery offers breathtaking views of the valley and a peaceful spiritual atmosphere.

Next, visit the Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1962 Indo-China war. The memorial is both moving and informative, offering insight into the region’s history.

Day 5 – Bumla Pass & Madhuri Lake Excursion

Today is the most adventurous and exciting day of the tour. After an early breakfast, proceed towards Bumla Pass, located near the Indo-China border at a high altitude.

The drive to Bumla Pass is thrilling, with rugged terrain and breathtaking views of snow-covered mountains. Special permits and local vehicles are required for this excursion, adding to the exclusivity of the experience. At the pass, you can witness the international border and interact with Indian Army personnel.

On the way, visit the famous Madhuri Lake, known for its surreal beauty and cinematic landscapes. Surrounded by mountains and dotted with tree trunks rising from the water, the lake offers a unique and unforgettable sight.

En route, you may revisit key viewpoints or take short breaks for photography. The descent towards Dirang brings a noticeable change in landscape, from snow-covered peaks to greener valleys.

Upon reaching Dirang, visit the picturesque Sangti Valley, known for its peaceful environment and stunning natural beauty. The valley is home to river streams, open landscapes, and seasonal birdlife.

You may also explore Dirang Monastery or simply enjoy a relaxed evening soaking in the calm atmosphere of this charming town. After the adventurous days in Tawang, this day provides a perfect opportunity to unwind.

Day 7 – Dirang to Guwahati (Approx 320 km / 9 hrs)

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Guwahati. The drive takes you through the same scenic route, offering one last chance to enjoy the beauty of the Eastern Himalayas.

As you descend from the hills to the plains, you will notice the gradual change in climate and landscape. Short stops can be taken along the way for refreshments and relaxation.

Reach Guwahati by evening. Depending on your onward travel plans, you will be dropped at the airport or hotel.

  • 50% Advance at the Time of booking after receiving Invoice and rest 15 Days prior to tour start date.

  • Any Air/ Train Bookings to be made should be paid 100% in advance

  • In case of offers applied with more than 40% Discount then 100% in Advance.

  • 0% Cancellation for any land package bookings 45 Days before departure.

  • 30% Cancellation for any land package bookings 15 Days before departure.

  • 100% Cancellation for any land package bookings 7 Days before departure.
