Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 – Pune – Morgaon – Siddhatek – Theur – Ranjangaon

The sacred Ashtavinayak Yatra begins from Pune early in the morning as the group proceeds towards Morgaon, the first and most important temple in the Ashtavinayak circuit. Located about 65 km from Pune, Morgaon is home to the famous Moreshwar Ganpati Temple, which is traditionally considered the starting point of the Ashtavinayak pilgrimage.

Upon arrival, pilgrims offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha at this ancient temple. The temple is surrounded by stone walls and has four entrance gates, symbolizing the four directions. The idol of Moreshwar is believed to remove obstacles and grant prosperity.

After darshan, the journey continues towards Siddhatek, located on the banks of the Bhima River. This temple houses the revered Siddhivinayak Ganpati, known for fulfilling devotees’ wishes. The temple is situated in a peaceful setting and is an important spiritual stop in the Ashtavinayak circuit.

Later, the group travels to Theur, where the famous Chintamani Ganpati Temple is located. According to legend, Lord Ganesha relieved Sage Kapila of his worries here, which is why the deity is known as Chintamani, the remover of worries.

In the evening, the journey continues to Ranjangaon, where pilgrims visit the Mahaganpati Temple, known for its powerful and majestic form of Lord Ganesha.

After completing the darshan, check in to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay in Ranjangaon.

Day 2 – Ranjangaon – Ozar – Lenyadri

After breakfast, the pilgrimage continues towards Ozar, a small town known for the famous Vighneshwar Ganpati Temple. This temple is associated with the legend of Lord Ganesha defeating the demon Vighnasura, who created obstacles for people performing religious rituals.

The temple is known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings. Devotees visit here to seek blessings for the removal of obstacles from their lives.

After darshan at Ozar, the journey continues to Lenyadri, one of the most unique temples in the Ashtavinayak Yatra. The temple of Girijatmaj Ganpati is located inside a cave on a hill and is believed to be the place where Goddess Parvati performed penance to be blessed with Lord Ganesha as her son.

To reach the temple, pilgrims climb around 300 steps carved into the hill. The climb offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside and creates a memorable pilgrimage experience.

The temple is part of the ancient Lenyadri Caves, which are believed to date back to early Buddhist times and are carved directly into the mountain.

After completing darshan, travelers spend some time exploring the area and enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings.

Later, check in to the hotel near Ozar / Junnar.

Dinner and overnight stay in Ozar / Junnar.

Day 3 – Ozar / Junnar – Mahad – Pali

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and continue the sacred Ashtavinayak journey towards the next important temples. The drive passes through beautiful countryside landscapes, small villages, and scenic views of the Western Ghats.

The first destination of the day is Mahad, where the famous Varadvinayak Ganpati Temple is located. This temple is one of the most significant temples in the Ashtavinayak circuit and is believed to grant wishes and blessings to devotees. The idol of Lord Ganesha here is unique, and pilgrims are allowed to enter the sanctum and offer prayers directly to the deity.

The temple is surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere, and many devotees spend time performing prayers and rituals before continuing their journey.

After darshan at Mahad, the group proceeds towards Pali, home to the famous Ballaleshwar Ganpati Temple. This temple is associated with the legend of a young devotee named Ballal, whose deep devotion pleased Lord Ganesha. The deity appeared before him and promised to stay there in the form of Ballaleshwar.

The temple architecture is beautifully designed and is one of the most revered Ganpati temples in Maharashtra. Pilgrims visit here seeking blessings for prosperity, success, and happiness.

After completing darshan at Pali, travelers check in to the hotel and relax after the day’s pilgrimage.

Dinner and overnight stay in Pali / Mahad.

Day 4 – Pali – Pune

After breakfast, travelers prepare for the final leg of the sacred Ashtavinayak Yatra. Devotees often revisit the temple in the morning for another darshan before beginning the return journey.

According to traditional belief, many pilgrims prefer to complete the Ashtavinayak circuit by revisiting Morgaon Ganpati Temple, which is considered the official beginning and ending point of the pilgrimage. This ritual symbolizes the completion of the sacred journey.

After completing darshan if applicable, the group begins the return journey towards Pune. The drive passes through scenic countryside landscapes, small towns, and farms that reflect the cultural beauty of Maharashtra.

Short breaks are taken along the way for refreshments and relaxation.

By afternoon or evening, the group reaches Pune, marking the completion of the sacred pilgrimage covering the eight holy temples of Lord Ganesha.

The Ashtavinayak Yatra concludes with divine blessings and wonderful spiritual memories of visiting the revered temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha across Maharashtra.
