Day wise Itinerary
Day 1: Touchdown Guwahati – Soulful Start & Sunset on Brahmaputra
Welcome to the magical Northeast! As you land at Guwahati Airport, our team gives you a warm welcome and off we go straight to the revered Kamakhya Temple – a Shakti Peetha that’s not just a temple but a divine energy zone. Soak in the spiritual vibes and panoramic views of the city from Nilachal Hills. After darshan and a little exploration, check in at your hotel and relax.
But hey, don’t get too cozy yet – the Brahmaputra River Cruise is calling! As the sun dips below the horizon, you’ll sail on one of the mightiest rivers in Asia. Golden reflections on the water, light breeze, soulful music, and a hot cup of Assam tea – perfect way to kickstart your trip. Later, enjoy a relaxed dinner and prep yourself for the wild side of Assam tomorrow!
Day 2: Guwahati to Kaziranga – Into the Wild!
Good morning adventurer! Post breakfast, we hit the road towards Kaziranga National Park – the pride of Assam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The scenic 5-hour drive is a treat with lush tea gardens and quaint villages keeping you company. Upon arrival, check in at your jungle resort and grab some lunch.
By afternoon, it’s time for your Jeep Safari – the real action begins! Keep those binoculars handy as you spot the majestic one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, swamp deer, and if luck's on your side – maybe even a tiger! The calls of birds, rustling grasses, and raw forest energy – Kaziranga is nothing short of nature’s symphony.
Evening is all about unwinding by the bonfire (seasonal) with some local folk tunes, or maybe just stargazing from your cottage deck. Dinner and overnight stay amid the wild.
Day 3: Kaziranga to Shillong – Welcome to the Hills
Rise and shine! Today, after a hearty breakfast, we bid goodbye to the rhinos and roll up to the hill town of Shillong, fondly called the ‘Scotland of the East’. The 7-hour journey might sound long but trust us, you’ll love every turn – waterfalls tumbling down hills, misty pine forests, and roadside momos for snack breaks.
En route, we may take a short halt at Umiam Lake, a beautiful man-made reservoir surrounded by green hills. Capture some selfies or just sit back and watch the clouds dance over the water.
Reach Shillong by evening, check in to your hotel, and relax after a long yet scenic ride. If you have energy left, you can take a casual walk at Police Bazaar, the heart of local life. It's buzzing with street food, tribal jewelry shops, and warm smiles. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 4: Cherrapunjee – Where Rain Wears a Crown
Get ready to drench in nature – literally! Today’s day trip takes us to Cherrapunjee (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth, where clouds kiss your face and waterfalls sing their tunes. We’ll head out early post breakfast.
On the way, we visit Elephant Falls and Mawdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint – both offering jaw-dropping vistas. Once at Cherrapunjee, your senses will be in for a treat. Visit the spectacular Nohkalikai Falls – India’s tallest plunge waterfall, the caves of Mawsmai, and the stunning Seven Sisters Falls.
Feel like an explorer as you walk on the Living Root Bridge – nature’s handmade marvel built from tree roots across streams. If weather allows, enjoy local lunch with hot rice, dry fish chutney, and spicy bamboo shoot curry – a Khasi special!
Evening we drive back to Shillong, hearts full of misty memories and phone galleries full of waterfall snaps. Dinner and overnight in Shillong.
Day 5: Mawlynnong & Dawki – Magic in Every Corner
Today’s plan is straight out of a dream. Post breakfast, we head to Mawlynnong – officially Asia’s cleanest village. Every lane here is spotless, every house decorated with flowers, and the locals greet you with a genuine smile. Climb the bamboo Sky Walk for a top-down jungle view and don’t miss the balancing rock phenomenon.
Next, we travel to Dawki, a hidden gem near the Indo-Bangladesh border. The star here is the Umngot River, so clear you can see your shadow in it! Take a peaceful boat ride – it feels like the boat is floating in air. Also visit the border point at Tamabil, where one step takes you right next to Bangladesh.
After soaking in this surreal experience, we head back to Shillong. It’s our last night here – maybe gather your gang and enjoy a quick group stroll or late-night hot chocolate! Overnight in Shillong.
Day 6: Shillong to Guwahati – Back to the Base
Time to descend from the hills with a heart full of stories. After breakfast, we begin our drive back to Guwahati. En route, stop again at Umiam Lake if missed earlier, or try a local dhaba for lunch.
Once we reach Guwahati, check-in and rest for a bit. In the evening, if time permits, explore Fancy Bazaar for some quick shopping – think tea packets, Assamese gamosa, bamboo handicrafts, and aromatic spices. Or if you’re a temple lover, visit Umananda Temple on Peacock Island (optional).
Tonight, it's your farewell dinner – exchange laughter, Insta handles, and memories. Overnight at Guwahati.
Day 7: Bidding Goodbye with Heartfelt Memories
The week just flew by, didn’t it? Post breakfast, it’s time to pack up and check out. We drop you off at Guwahati Airport as per your flight timing. As you take off, the clouds of Meghalaya and the greens of Assam will wave you goodbye – until next time!
