Day wise Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Kolkata & Journey to the Magical Sundarbans
The journey begins as you arrive in Kolkata, the vibrant “City of Joy.” Our representative greets you with a warm smile, and after a brief introduction, you set off towards the mysterious Sundarbans, home to the legendary Royal Bengal Tiger.
As the city’s bustle fades, the scenery changes to lush villages, winding rivers, and fields stretching as far as the eye can see. After a scenic drive of around three and a half hours, you reach the edge of the Sundarbans. Here, you board a traditional wooden boat that will ferry you deep into the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As the boat glides through narrow creeks surrounded by dense mangroves, you’ll feel a sense of adventure awakening within you. The silence is broken only by the rhythmic sound of the oars and the distant calls of exotic birds. Keep your camera ready—you might spot crocodiles basking in the sun, deer drinking from the river, or if luck is truly on your side, the elusive stripes of a tiger disappearing into the forest!
Later, you visit the Sajnekhali Watch Tower, where you get a panoramic view of this magical ecosystem. The evening is spent enjoying a cultural folk dance performed by local villagers, narrating stories of life and survival in the Sundarbans.
As the sun sets in brilliant shades of orange and gold, you check into a comfortable eco-resort, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature. The first day ends with a hearty local dinner and a sense of wonder for the days to come.
Day 2 – Morning Safari & Return to Kolkata
Wake up to the sounds of nature, as the gentle morning mist rises above the mangroves. After a hot cup of tea, you set out on an early morning boat safari. The silence of dawn adds to the mystical charm as your boat glides through secret waterways that feel like hidden passages to another world.
Your guide points out wildlife—colorful kingfishers darting over the water, mudskippers leaping near the banks, and wild boars rustling through the undergrowth. The highlight of the morning is the Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower, known for tiger sightings and breathtaking views of the vast mangrove forest.
Returning to the resort for breakfast, you take a moment to soak in the peace and serenity of the surroundings. It’s a reminder of the delicate balance between humans and nature that the Sundarbans represents.
After lunch, you bid farewell to this natural wonderland and journey back to Kolkata by boat and road. The transition from the calm wilderness to the buzzing city life feels surreal.
Upon reaching Kolkata by evening, check into your hotel. If time permits, take a leisurely stroll near the Howrah Bridge, watch the riverboats glide across the Hooghly, or visit the Dakshineswar Kali Temple for an evening aarti.
End the day with a delicious Bengali dinner—perhaps some fresh fish curry or a plate of Kolkata’s famous sweets like Rasgulla and Sandesh. The Sundarbans adventure has come to an end, but the memories will linger forever.
