Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Bagdogra – Journey to Gangtok

Your Himalayan journey begins as you arrive at Bagdogra. The air already feels lighter, fresher. After a warm welcome, you begin your scenic drive towards Gangtok. As the plains slowly fade away, the road starts winding along the beautiful Teesta River. The sound of flowing water, green hills rising on both sides, and cool breeze through the window set the perfect mood for the days ahead.

As you ascend higher, tea gardens, hanging bridges, and small hillside villages appear like postcards. The excitement quietly builds — this is not just a trip, it’s an escape into the mountains.

By evening, Gangtok greets you with twinkling lights spread across the hills. After check-in, you step out for a relaxed walk on MG Marg. Clean streets, colorful prayer flags, cozy cafés, and smiling locals create a peaceful vibe. No honking, no rush — just mountain calmness. After dinner, you rest early, knowing the Himalayas are just beginning to unfold their magic.

Day 2: Exploring the Charms of Gangtok

Morning in the mountains feels different. The crisp air and golden sunlight over distant peaks welcome you to a beautiful day in Gangtok. After breakfast, you begin your exploration with Tashi View Point, where — if the sky is clear — the mighty Kanchenjunga appears like a silent guardian of Sikkim.

You then visit Ganesh Tok, a small temple perched high above the city, offering both blessings and breathtaking views. The peaceful atmosphere continues at Enchey Monastery, where prayer flags flutter and the sound of chants fills the air.

Later, the Flower Exhibition Centre adds color to your day with vibrant Himalayan blooms. At Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, you step into the rich Buddhist heritage of the region.

By afternoon, Banjhakri Falls offers a refreshing break amidst landscaped gardens and flowing waterfalls. Evening again belongs to MG Marg — perhaps some hot momos, local shopping, or simply soaking in the cool mountain night. Gangtok slowly feels like home.

Day 3: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir – Into the High Himalayas

Today begins early and a little adventurous. After breakfast, you drive higher into the mountains towards Tsomgo Lake. The road climbs steadily, landscapes turning rugged and dramatic. Snow patches begin to appear, and suddenly, at 12,000 ft, the glacial lake reveals itself — silent, shimmering, and surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

The cold air touches your face as you walk along the lake. Some choose to ride a yak, others simply stand still, absorbing the raw Himalayan beauty.

A short drive ahead takes you to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a place of deep respect and faith. Stories of the brave soldier add emotion to the high-altitude experience.

By afternoon, you return to Gangtok, tired yet thrilled. The evening feels quieter today — perhaps because the mountains have left you speechless.

Day 4: Gangtok to Lachung – Journey into North Sikkim

After breakfast, you say goodbye to Gangtok and begin one of the most scenic drives of the tour towards Lachung. The road winds through untouched North Sikkim landscapes — waterfalls cascading down rocky cliffs, deep valleys, pine forests, and mist floating lazily across mountain slopes.

Seven Sisters Waterfall becomes a perfect photo stop. The journey feels like moving deeper into nature’s heart. Small army camps, prayer wheels, and tiny villages remind you how peaceful life can be in the Himalayas.

As you climb higher, the air turns cooler and thinner. By late afternoon, you reach Lachung — a quiet mountain village surrounded by towering peaks and apple orchards. There is a different kind of silence here. No city noise, no rush — just the sound of the river flowing nearby.

After a warm dinner, you settle into your cozy stay, wrapped in blankets and mountain calmness. Tomorrow promises even higher adventures.

Day 5: Yumthang Valley – Return to Gangtok

The morning in Lachung feels pure and untouched. After an early breakfast, you begin your drive towards the magical Yumthang Valley. As the road climbs higher, the scenery becomes almost unreal — wide open valleys, grazing yaks, snow-lined mountains, and a river flowing gently through the meadows.

At nearly 11,800 ft, Yumthang welcomes you like a dream. During spring, the valley bursts into colors with blooming rhododendrons. In colder months, snow carpets the landscape in white silence. You walk slowly, breathing in the crisp mountain air, clicking pictures, but also pausing to simply absorb the moment.

If weather and roads permit, an optional drive to Zero Point offers even more snow-covered drama — a place where roads end and raw Himalayan beauty begins.

By afternoon, you return to Lachung for lunch and then continue the long yet scenic drive back to Gangtok. Evening feels comforting as you check back into your hotel. After conquering North Sikkim, you sleep with a sense of achievement.

Day 6: Gangtok to Pelling via Ravangla

After breakfast, the journey continues towards Pelling. The drive today feels relaxed yet scenic. On the way, you stop at Ravangla’s Buddha Park. The towering golden Buddha statue stands peacefully against the Himalayan backdrop. The silence here feels almost meditative — as if the mountains themselves are blessing your journey.

The road to Pelling winds through forests, small bridges, and tea-covered slopes. By afternoon, you reach this quiet hill town known for its magnificent Kanchenjunga views.

From your hotel balcony, the snow-covered peaks appear almost within reach. Sunset paints the mountains in shades of pink and gold. Evening in Pelling is calm — no crowds, just mountain breeze and peaceful conversations. A simple dinner tastes better at this altitude, and the night sky feels closer than ever.

Day 7: Discovering Pelling – Nature & Heritage

Today is about slow exploration. The morning begins with a visit to Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim’s oldest and most respected monasteries. The chanting monks and fluttering prayer flags create a deeply peaceful atmosphere.

Next, you walk through the historic Rabdentse Ruins — once the ancient capital of Sikkim. Surrounded by forest and mountain views, the ruins whisper stories of a forgotten era.

Later, you visit Khecheopalri Lake, considered sacred and wish-fulfilling. The lake remains mysteriously clean, as locals believe even leaves do not float here for long. Rimbi Waterfalls and Kanchenjunga Waterfalls add refreshing energy to the day.

By evening, you return to your hotel, sharing stories and scrolling through breathtaking photos. Pelling teaches you to slow down and simply feel the mountains.

Day 8: Darjeeling Sunrise & Departure

Early morning, you travel to Darjeeling’s famous Tiger Hill. As the first rays of sunlight touch Mt. Kanchenjunga, the sky transforms into shades of orange and gold. On clear days, even Mount Everest peeks from a distance. It’s a goosebump moment — silent, powerful, unforgettable.

On your way back, you pass Batasia Loop and visit Ghoom Monastery. After breakfast, explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park if time permits.

Soon, it’s time to drive back to Bagdogra. The mountains slowly fade behind you, but the memories stay — snow peaks, quiet monasteries, winding roads, and that feeling of being truly close to the Himalayas.

You leave not just with photos, but with a calm heart and a promise to return someday.
