Day wise Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Indore and Transfer to Ujjain
Your spiritual journey begins with arrival in Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh. After meeting the tour representative, the group proceeds towards Ujjain, located around 55 km away. The drive takes about one to one and a half hours through the scenic Malwa region.
Upon reaching Ujjain, check-in at the hotel and relax for a while. Ujjain is one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) of India and has been an important pilgrimage center for thousands of years. It is situated on the banks of the holy Shipra River and is also one of the four locations where the grand Kumbh Mela is held.
In the afternoon or evening, the group visits the most important shrine of the city – Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple. This temple is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds immense religious significance. Devotees gather here from all parts of the country to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal.
After darshan, proceed to Ram Ghat on the banks of the Shipra River. The ghats are always lively with pilgrims performing rituals and prayers. Witnessing the evening aarti at Ram Ghat is a truly spiritual experience as the riverfront glows with lamps, chanting of mantras, and the sound of temple bells.
Later, return to the hotel. Dinner will be served at the hotel followed by an overnight stay in Ujjain.
Day 2 – Ujjain Temple Darshan and Local Sightseeing
The second day begins early in the morning with the option to attend the famous Bhasma Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. This sacred ritual, performed before sunrise, is one of the most unique ceremonies dedicated to Lord Shiva and attracts devotees from across India.
After breakfast, the day continues with a full sightseeing tour of Ujjain, exploring its ancient temples and spiritual landmarks.
The first visit is to the Kal Bhairav Temple, one of the most powerful temples in the city dedicated to Lord Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. The temple is known for its unique tradition where devotees offer liquor to the deity.
Next, visit the Harsiddhi Temple, one of the revered Shakti Peethas dedicated to Goddess Durga. The temple is famous for its tall oil lamps that create a mesmerizing view during evening lighting.
Later, proceed to Sandipani Ashram, believed to be the place where Lord Krishna, along with Balarama and Sudama, received their education from Guru Sandipani.
Other important temples include Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir and Mangalnath Temple, which is considered the birthplace of the planet Mars according to Hindu mythology.
The evening is free for exploring the local markets or revisiting the ghats for spiritual relaxation.

The distance from Maheshwar to Omkareshwar is around 65 km, and the drive usually takes about 2 hours through peaceful rural landscapes and small villages of Madhya Pradesh.
Omkareshwar is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, making it an extremely important spiritual site for devotees. The temple is located on Mandhata Island, which is uniquely shaped like the sacred symbol “Om” when viewed from above. The holy Narmada River flows around the island, creating a serene and spiritually uplifting environment.
Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and freshen up before proceeding for Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Darshan. The temple is located on the island and can be reached either by a bridge or by local boat. Devotees offer prayers to Lord Shiva and seek blessings at this ancient shrine.
