Day 1 – Pune to Bhimashankar

The spiritual journey begins from Pune in the early morning as the group proceeds towards Bhimashankar, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The distance from Pune to Bhimashankar is approximately 110 km and the drive takes around 4 hours, passing through the scenic landscapes of the Sahyadri mountain range.

The route offers beautiful views of dense forests, valleys, and small villages that showcase the natural charm of rural Maharashtra. Bhimashankar is not only an important pilgrimage site but also part of the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its rich biodiversity and peaceful surroundings.

Upon arrival, the group proceeds for darshan at the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple. The ancient temple, built in the traditional Nagara style of architecture, holds immense religious significance. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva appeared here to defeat the demon Tripurasura, and the temple marks the place where the sacred Jyotirlinga manifested.

The route passes through small towns, farms, and hilly terrains that offer glimpses of the natural beauty of Maharashtra. Upon reaching Trimbakeshwar, check in to the hotel and freshen up before visiting the temple.

The Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is unique because the Jyotirlinga here represents the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, making it spiritually significant.

Another important attraction here is Kushavarta Kund, considered the origin point of the sacred Godavari River, one of the holiest rivers in India.

After breakfast, the group proceeds for local sightseeing in Nashik, one of the most sacred cities in Maharashtra. Nashik is closely associated with the epic Ramayana, as it is believed that Lord Rama spent part of his exile here.

The first visit is to Panchvati, a historic and religious area that includes several temples and sacred locations linked to Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana.

Next, visit the famous Kalaram Temple, one of the most important temples dedicated to Lord Rama in Maharashtra. The temple is known for its black stone idol of Lord Rama and impressive architecture.

Travelers also visit the Godavari River Ghats, where devotees perform rituals and prayers along the sacred riverbanks.

The distance from Nashik to Grishneshwar is approximately 180 km, and the drive takes around 4 to 5 hours through the scenic landscapes of northern Maharashtra.

Upon arrival, the group proceeds for darshan at the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, which is considered the twelfth Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. The temple is known for its beautiful red stone architecture and intricate carvings. Devotees gather here throughout the year to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. After completing the temple darshan, the journey continues with a visit to the nearby Ellora Caves, one of the most remarkable historical and architectural sites in India. The Ellora Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and consist of ancient rock-cut caves representing Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions.

Depending on time and interest, travelers may also briefly explore local markets in Aurangabad before departure.
