Day 1 – Arrival in Bhubaneswar

Arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport or Railway Station, where our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with the transfer to your hotel. Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, is popularly known as the “Temple City of India” because of its large number of ancient temples built in the traditional Kalinga style of architecture.

After check-in at the hotel and some time to relax, begin the sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar. The first visit is to the famous Lingaraj Temple, one of the oldest and most important temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is a masterpiece of Kalinga architecture and attracts thousands of devotees every day.

Next visit Mukteshwar Temple, a beautiful temple known for its elegant carvings and detailed stone sculptures. The temple is often referred to as the “Gem of Odisha architecture.”

Later proceed to Rajarani Temple, a historic temple famous for its intricate stone carvings and peaceful surroundings. Unlike most temples, this temple is not dedicated to any specific deity but is admired mainly for its artistic beauty.

Travellers may also visit Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves, ancient rock-cut caves that were once used by Jain monks for meditation and living. The caves provide a glimpse into the region’s ancient history and offer scenic views of the surrounding area.

Day 2 – Bhubaneswar to Konark and Puri

After breakfast check out from the hotel and begin the journey towards Konark, located around 65 kilometers from Bhubaneswar. The drive passes through scenic coastal landscapes and small villages of Odisha.

Upon arrival visit the magnificent Konark Sun Temple, one of the most famous monuments in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple was built in the 13th century and is designed in the shape of a giant stone chariot dedicated to the Sun God. The temple features beautifully carved stone wheels, pillars and sculptures that showcase the brilliance of ancient Indian architecture.

After exploring the Sun Temple complex, travellers can visit the nearby Chandrabhaga Beach, a peaceful beach located close to Konark. The beach offers beautiful sea views and a relaxing environment.

Later continue the journey to Jagannath Puri, one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in India. Upon arrival check in at the hotel and relax.

In the evening visit the famous Jagannath Temple, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra. This temple is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and holds great religious significance for devotees.

Day 3 – Puri and Chilika Lake Excursion

After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Chilika Lake, the largest coastal lagoon in India and one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Odisha. The drive from Puri to Chilika Lake takes around 1.5 to 2 hours.

Chilika Lake is famous for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes. The lake is home to a large variety of migratory birds, especially during the winter season when birds from different parts of the world arrive here.

Upon arrival travellers can enjoy a boat ride on Chilika Lake, which is one of the main highlights of the visit. During the boat ride visitors may get a chance to spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphins, which are commonly found near the Satapada region of the lake.

The peaceful surroundings of the lake, with vast stretches of water and distant islands, create a relaxing and refreshing experience for visitors.

Day 4 – Puri Local Sightseeing

After breakfast begin the sightseeing tour of Puri, one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in India and an important part of the Char Dham pilgrimage. Puri is not only famous for the Jagannath Temple but also for its cultural heritage, beaches and nearby historic sites.

Start the day with another visit to the sacred Jagannath Temple for darshan. The temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, along with Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra. The temple complex is known for its grand architecture, religious rituals and deep spiritual atmosphere. Every year millions of devotees visit this temple, especially during the famous Rath Yatra festival.

After the temple visit proceed to Gundicha Temple, which holds special significance during the Rath Yatra festival as the destination where Lord Jagannath’s chariot procession concludes.

Later visit Loknath Temple, another important temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is believed to be closely associated with the Jagannath Temple and holds strong religious importance for devotees.

Travellers may also visit the Puri Beach Market, where local artisans sell traditional handicrafts, seashell items, wooden carvings and souvenirs. The beach area is lively and offers beautiful views of the Bay of Bengal.

In the evening enjoy a relaxing walk along Puri Beach, watching the waves and experiencing the calm coastal atmosphere. The beach is known for its golden sand and scenic sunset views.

Day 5 – Puri to Bhubaneswar Departure

After breakfast check out from the hotel and begin the journey back to Bhubaneswar. The drive from Puri to Bhubaneswar takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and passes through scenic countryside landscapes of Odisha.

On the way travellers may visit the famous Dhauli Shanti Stupa, also known as the Peace Pagoda. This historic site marks the location of the ancient Kalinga War fought by Emperor Ashoka. After witnessing the destruction caused by the war, Ashoka embraced Buddhism and dedicated himself to spreading peace and non-violence.

The white Peace Pagoda built at Dhauli symbolizes this transformation and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes and the Daya River.

Travellers may also visit Pipili Village, which is famous for its colorful appliqué handicrafts. The village is known for traditional artwork used in umbrellas, wall hangings and decorative items.
